Japan is not part of the European Union. Therefore, customs documents are required: a CN23 form for packages over 300 euros, a CN22 form for packages under 300 euros, and a commercial invoice – even for gifts. The use of the Latin script is mandatory. For faster local processing, you can also add the address in Japanese on a separate label. Check if the contents of your package are allowed; certain goods like medicines, seeds, and foodstuffs are prohibited. Pack your shipment securely, especially for fragile or valuable items.
