Japan is not part of the European Union. Therefore, customs documents are required: a CN23 form for packages over 300 euros, a CN22 form for packages under 300 euros, and a commercial invoice – even for gifts. The use of the Latin script is mandatory. For faster local processing, you can also add the address in Japanese on a separate label. Check if the contents of your package are allowed; certain goods like medicines, seeds, and foodstuffs are prohibited. Pack your shipment securely, especially for fragile or valuable items. Clearly mention the recipient’s phone number on the label. For shipments of higher value, additional insurance is available.
